Since the January inauguration of the 47th President of the United States, sponsoring agencies within the federal government have implemented changes, causing confusion and uncertainty about the future of research funding in higher education.
Support for UVA's Research Enterprise
OSP, OVPR, and EVPP are committed to keeping the research community informed and supporting UVA's research enterprise. To that end, there are several websites available for the latest news and updates as the federal funding landscape continues to evolve.
UVA - Federal Information
The institution-level Federal Information page provides answers to frequently asked questions that span a range of topics impacting the university, including federal research funding, immigration, and free speech, among others.
See federalinfo.virginia.edu to review the FAQs and contact federalinfo@virginia.edu if you have additional questions.
OVPR - Federal Updates
OVPR created a webpage for Federal Updates that provides timely updates, FAQs, and links to resources available on Grounds and beyond. The page includes all updates since January 28, 2025 and guidance, such as what to do if a researcher receives a Stop Work notice.
See research.virginia.edu/resources/federal-updates for the latest developments.
OSP Blog
While not focused on federal sponsors specifically, the OSP blog is our place to provide critical announcements and information about research administration at OSP, including sponsor updates, resources, and a look behind the OSP curtain.
You can find the OSP blog at osp.research.virginia.edu/blog and send any questions about the website, blog, or other OSP communications to OSP-Help@virginia.edu.
Additionally, if you receive an unusual or unexpected request from a sponsor, please forward the request to OSP at ospnoa@virginia.edu.
